OK! It's a milestone and we've GOT to be close, right?!?! Trying hard to stay positive. We started this process 17 months ago and to be quite honest I don't think I ever really imagined it would be this long before we saw a picture, but I know we're close. I know that there is a child that our family is just right for, and we will be fully ready to welcome that child home.
Today I'm focusing on today. We're starting spring break! The kids are thrilled! I ran this morning (always helpful for my sanity!), and....I get to go have my hair done! I know that sounds silly but often this is something I squeeze in when I have a chance, wherever they take walk-ins. For my birthday this year I wanted to go to a salon where they can help me find a style, color, etc. and it's all scheduled! I'm so excited! I know that's silly and it's hard for me to spend this kind of money but I'm looking forward to it too. :)
Have a great day!
Glad you are treating yourself right! You deserve lots of pampering. Wishing for that referral to come sometime soon!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the salon--sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteBeen missing your posts for a while!
ReplyDelete17 months...but your right, YOUR little one is out there and it will all happen in perfect timing! Timing you may not appreciate now, but I bet you'll be able to look back on and understand why everything happened this exact way.
ENJOY the hair salon! You DESERVE to treat yourself! Now that we've actually made out first step towards adoption I am pretty sure I wont be seeing the inside of one of those for a while!

Enjoy the salon, that sounds like a wonderful treat.
ReplyDeleteI know it is so hard to wait, but they really try so hard to match the children to the right families.
good luck and enjoy the salon! it's important to have some time for yourself once in a while, and gettin done up definitely helps you feel positive!
ReplyDeleteI keep hoping that I'm going to see a referral post... Until then, it's good that you are enjoying some outings and events. :)

ReplyDeleteChristy,
ReplyDeleteI've been away from your blog for too long and I apologize. Things have been nuts at my household. But, I've been thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way. Hang in there and be strong. I LOVE that you scheduled a "me day" to take care of you! Taking a little time out to treat yourself once in awhile (especially when you are a mom) is necessary. You deserve it! Enjoy and post pix of the new hair - I'm sure it will be fabulous!
